Rimmel London Provocalips Review

I love a good long lasting lipstick. I will admit I'm not crazy into lip products because it's so hard for me to find something that works with my lips. I usually have dry lips so I mostly like wearing lip balms since most lipsticks will end up drying my lips. I'm also not high maintenance when wearing lipsticks. I don't want to worry about it smearing all over my face when I'm not aware of it. I heard about these Rimmel London Provocalips 16 HR Kissproof Lip colours and I had to try them. I am a big fan of lip stains and these seemed somewhat similar.

I would say these are like a liquid lipstick. I picked up the shades Play With Fire (deep red) and Heart Breaker (brick).

They are double sided. Step 1 is the lip color and Step2 is the Lock & Shine balm.

In this picture I am wearing Play with Fire. As you can see the lip color on its own dries to a matte finish, but it also is somewhat sticky so I would recommend applying Step 2 which is the lock & shine when wearing it.

Next is Heart Breaker. I honestly did not think I would like this color, but once I tried it on I fell in love. It is very wearable which is why I've been wearing it so much lately. I naturally have dark pigmented lips so this shade is just a little darker than my natural lip color.

In the picture above I am only wearing Step 1 because once you wear Step 2 these babies don't come off! In the bottom picture I'm wearing Heart Breaker along with Step 2 just to show the shine.

It's not a crazy amount of shine which I like. It gives your lips a really soft satin feel and it really does help lock in the color by making it long lasting and kissproof. I would recommend applying this on bare lips without any lip balm or anything just to ensure that it will last long. I've worn this while eating and I found that it did come off around the inner rim of my mouth, but I just reapplied both the lip color and balm and it looked good again. I do feel like you would need to reapply either the balm or both step 1 and step 2 throughout the day, at least once. I didn't experience my lips getting chapped or dry, but by the end of the day it does start to flake off.
Removing this lip product is a little hard with just a tissue or a face wipe. I tried putting eye makeup remover on a face wipe and it made it a lot easier to remove.

I would highly recommend the Provocalips! They truly are kissproof and long lasting. They are also inexpensive at about under $7.

  1. This lip color looks beautiful on you. I usually just ear a lightly pink tinted gloss but I would love to be a girl who embraces bold lip sticks.

    1. I usually wear neutral colors as well...mostly lip gloss, but every now and then I like wearing bold colors. These are really great and they also come in lighter colors. Thanks for your comment! ♥
